u <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # <br />INSPECTION DATE 12/18/98 <br />(Page 2) • <br />M-83-141 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS CLK <br />Upon the request of the Operator, DMG inspected the current state of this <br />site with regard to the difficulty of fulfilling the requirements of the current reclamation <br />plan. At this time, 30,000 tons of ore has been removed from the site, with two benches <br />(around 5,000 - 10,000 tons) of ore left at the lower edges of the site. Two buildings have <br />been left in place on the northeastern corner of the permit area, with steep drop-offs of <br />about 7'-10' below them. Granite deposits and outcroppings cover a large percentage of the <br />site, with the mine road running through the center of the permit area. The site is very <br />topsoil-poor, very steep, and very rocky. The current reclamation plan calls for terracing, <br />planting trees, and slopes of not less than 2H:ly. From observation of current conditions, <br />terracing and tree-planting may not be practical, given the soil, and sloping the site to <br />2H:1V may not be possible without blasting some of the granite pockets. <br />All changes to the reclamation plan must be approved by DMG first, prior <br />to implementation.
