A site inspection of the Ward Pit was made as part of the Division's on-going 4-year inspection program. The site is <br />located 12 miles northeast of Holyoke. Present during the inspection was Mr. Randy Schafer of Phillips County. <br />2. The Ward Pit is an active pit with approximately 2-3 acres of disturbance. There is an active excavation of <br />approximately 2-3 acres with depth of excavation of 6-8 feet. All disturbances were within the 9.9 acre permit boundary. <br />Topsoil has been stockpiled. The operator has begun reclaiming 1/3 of the pit wall to a 3:1 slope. The site will be <br />reclaimed to cropland. <br />3. An entrance sign was posted and the permit boundary was properly marked. <br />4.
