III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
On June 24, 1994, a complete inspection was conducted at the Marr Strip Mine.
Conditions at the mine were sunny and hot. It had rained in the past 24 hours
and earlier this week. Prior to this it had been very dry. The access road to the
mine was muddy in spots.
Scrapers have been brought in and have begun moving additional earth in the
720 area. The two pods, in the former overburden pile location, identified as
having excess spoil were being worked on. Ditches were in good condition.
Explosive storage area was OK. Ponds A,C,D and F were in good condition.
The entire areas of the 720 pit, the pre-law Marr Strip Pit and Pit #1 were walked
and photographs taken.
At this time no additional work had been done on the pit #1 area.
Records were checked and were in order.
