(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-2006-076
INSPECTION DATE: 12-5-06
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
This inspection was conducted as par[ of the normal review program established by the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining and Safety for permit applications. The State Pit #38 is a proposed 112c operation located 60
miles northwest of Craig, Colorado neaz the Wyoming border. Mr. Marvin Moore, consultant for Moffat County
accompanied the inspector to the site.
The required notice was posted at the entrance to the site. Permit boundaries aze mazked with t-posts with survey
tape or buckets for easy identification.
The site is owned by the Colorado State Land Boazd. There is a previous disturbance on site from an apparent gas
drill pad construction. The pad was cleared of topsoil which is stockpiled on the north side of the pad. Overburden
was stacked along the drill pit edge to the south. Indications are that this is as far as the pad development went. The
Land Board isn't even sure who did the prep work or why. This is not an issue for the Division or the inspector, it is
noted only because it is apre-existing condition.
Aside from the drill pad the site is located on typical northern plains. Sage brush and some brome are noted. Snow
cover prevented a more detailed inventory of vegetation. However, the Vegetation Exhibit within the application
has a good description of the native plants.
A drainage noted within the permit is a small swale like feature that serves only the immediate area. There appears
to be no wetlands type vegetation or features to note. Rerouting it should not affect any thing on site or down
gradient.
The 4WD tract also appears to be of little issue. As noted, the relocation should be permanent and have BLM
approval. The road looks like it is very little used so impacts should be minimal.
No utilities or other right-of--way issues aze evident at this time.
No issues or problems aze noted.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3`d Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no.
970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME: Marvin Moore ^ BL
OPERATOR: Moffat County ^ FS
STREET: 1570 Ranney ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Craig, Colorado 81625 ^ HMWMD (CH)
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
