(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-19Rn-~aa
INSPECTION DATE: 9-fi-n~ INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ~IS-
OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a monitoring and construction progress inspection of the site on 9-06-01. Present
during the inspection were Mark Tidquist and Phil Barnes of CC&V.
Inspected the Phase III area storm water diversion around the leach pad, it should be completed by the
end of the month, once the highway relocation work is completed.
Inspected the Phase II area pregnant solution collection system and recorded the following readings from
the high and low volume solution collection transducers.
Low volume transducer #1 was recorded at .il and # 2 was at .21
High volume transducer # 4 was recorded at 19.8. # 5 was at 22.5 and # 6 was at 25.5 (all measurements
are in hydrostatic feet of head)
Inspected the underdrain area, all three discharge pipes were discharging, no samples collected. The water
from the North underdrain pipe was being pumped in to the external pond to be utilized as make up water
for the leach pad facility. Mr Barnes stated that CC&V had the rights to the water, and that all the water
used in the facility is properly recorded. He was informed that the Division had sent the previous
inspections reports to the State Engineer and CDO~ 8:E, which indicated the diversion of the underdrain
water in to the external pond.
Highway relocation bridgework was continuing, no major problem noted in the area.
Inspected the external pond, it was holding a lot of water. As stated earlier, water was being pumped from
the North underdrain into the pond. At the same time, water was being pumped out from the low volume
solution collection system to make sure the allowable hydrostatic head is not exceeded.
Inspected the Phase I pregnant solution wlledion area and recorded the following readings from the high
volume solution collection transducers. Transducer # 1 was not functioning, at the time of the inspection, #
2 were recorded at 16.0 and # 2 was recorded at 23.8. Feet of head. According to Roger ]ohnson, process
manger, they plan to pull the # 1 transducer and put a replacement as soon as possible. Since in addition to
the transducers the operator had placed a piezometer, the fact that the #1 transducer not functioning does
not hinder the Division from obtaining the hydrostatic head data for the pond.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Scott Lewis
OPERATOR: CC&V
STREET: P.O.BOX 191
CITY/STATE/ZIP: VICTOR CO ROR60
JAMES STEVENS
cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
