,`~ ~ (Page 2) •
1 MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID: ~kM-82-067
INSPECTION DATE: 10/15/99
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: JCS
This inspection was conducted in order to monitor compliance of the operation with the
requirements of State Statutes, Rules and the conditions of the permit. The pit was inactive
at the time of the inspection. Although properly notified, the County was not represented
during the inspection.
An acceptable ID sign had been posted.
Boundary markers for the pre-amendment permit area were visible. The disturbance associated
with [he operation appeared largely within those markers. Markers for the boundaries of the
amended/expanded permit area w=_re not located. This is a possible compliance problem that
will be included on Paae 3 of this report.
The access road to the pit, leading away from the Bledsoe Ranch road, is a 2 track that has
not been improved for use during the operation.
The pit is small and appears not to have been active in some time. There is a small
stockpile of what appears to be coarse gravel located east of the pit. There was no stockpile
of topsoil identified; although the original approved reclamation plan committed the County
to salvage and stockpile 6 inches of topsoil for use in reclamation. In recognition of the
limited amount of topsoil present locally, however, the reclamation plan recently approved
with the amendment only commits the County to salvage topsoil from the places where
reasonable thicknesses are available. In the event that topsoil adequate for final
reclamation is not found, the County will formulate a growth medium using what soil is
available together with manure, etc.
Cc:
I & E Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Lynda Brownfield _ ^ BL
OPERATOR Kit Carson County ^ FS
STREET P.O.
