(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1999-040 <br />INSPECTION DATE 6/30/04 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC <br />' OHSBRVATION3 <br />This was an inspection of the Red Wash Gravel Pit conducted by Erica Crosby and Carl Mount <br />of the Division of Minerals and Geology. Stan Rassmusaen of Rio Blanco County was present <br />during the inspection. <br />The site is located 16 miles south of Rangely in Rio Blanco County, Colorado. An 110c <br />permit was issued on May 17, 1999. Amine identification sign was posted at the entrance <br />to the site, and permit boundary markers were identified. <br />Mining"was taking place during the inspection. The mine consists of a quarry that mines <br />red clinker for use on County Roads. Rio Blanco County has mined approximately 5 acres of <br />the 9.9 acres in the permit area. Mining mainly consisted of extracting material from the <br />bottom of the pit. The County has just started mining on the top of the quarry. The <br />operator will need to ensure that all available topsoil is salvaged and stockpiled for <br />future reclamation of the site.
