~~
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #
INSPECTION DATE
(Page 2)
M-93-059
OBSERVATIONS

INSPECTOR'S INITIALS A.LW
'T'his was a normal monitoring inspection conducted at the request of the operator to discuss
the transisition of operators from Ho1lyROCk, LLC to Eastern Colorado Aggregates. The site
is located approximately 3 miles west of Holly, Colorado and in between U.S. Hwy 50 and the
Arkansas River. The mine has not been producing for a few months as Ho1lyROCk wrapped up
their operation and Eastern Colorado Aggregates became the operator.
This meeting was held to discuss the recent transfer of the lease to Eastern Colorado
Aggregates from Ho1lyROCk and the current state of the mine site and permitting activities.
hlost of the cleaned and screened rock that Ho1lyROCk had stockpiled in recent months has been
hauled away. ECA was conducting a thorough maintenance review of all the equipment and
preparing to embark on restarting the dredge. The recent amendment was discussed with
respect to how ECA wants to conduct their mining operation. ECA also plans to transfer the
permit over into their name and specific forms for that process were sent to them to complete
that transaction. When the transfer is submitted, ECA will also submit a replacement bond
in accordance with the permit amendment calculations. There will be a few small changes with
how ECA plans to operate the dredge that will affect some of the proposed changes in the
amendment. The major one being that the proposed sediment pond in the southeast corner of
the processing yard will probably not be necessary due to the fact that all crushing and
processing operations are going to be moved to the south side of the railroad tracks. The
finished product will probably still be conveyored over to the north side for final
stockpiling and load-out.
The site was inspected and there has been no major change since the last inspection. The
operator is still trying to determine the exact way that mining will proceed from this point,
however, they do want to replace as much of the overburden sandpile as soon as possible.
This concluded the inspection and no problems were identified.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Jim Kirkland
OPERATOR Eastern Colorado Aggregates
STREET P.O 580
CITY/STATE/ZIP Rve.
