The width of overlap was checked with a ruler, and it was realized that the
overlap lines drawn on the panels are at least 7" from the edges of the GCL's. Where
liner could not be laid down in one piece, sections were cut to fit the spaces required.
Th.e edges of the GCL were sandbagged in place until the HDPE layer was placed and
sandbagged.
3) Pz~oblems with the rock layer in the anchor trench led to several alternatives to digging
out the trench being proposed. Throughout the day, the trenches were being mucked out to
allow for a measured depth of 2' and width of 2'.
4) HDPE liner was also placed by Colorado Lining Co. in accordance with specifications, with
tk~e edges overlapping by at least 6" each panel marked with white marker (for ease of
seam identification later). Holes and tears found during installation were marked when
found so they could be sealed later.
5) Th.e welding machine had been checked earlier in the day by Colorado Liners to confirm that
ttie seals would meet strength and torque requirements. Peel tests with a "coupon" were
done, and the results complied with the manufacturer's specifications.
6) CY~ecks on the subgrade were done as preparation work was completed in each area, including
ckiecks for the presence of rocks, rips, and over-steep grades.
7) Ai.r-pressure tests on the welds were not done at this time, Upon completion of the days
work (ended at 4:40pm due to rain), the liner was sandbagged in place to prevent it from
slipping.
I & f?
