• (Page 2)
MINE ZD # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-B1-088
INSPECTION DATE 09/02/98 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS CLK
OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were made during this routine inspection of this 74 acre 112 site.
1. Signs were posted as required by the rules, and fencing and natural boundaries served as
boundary markers.
2. Very little topsoil could be salvaged from the site, however, two overburden/topsoil
stockpiles have been made at the southern end of the site, and were measured by the
inspector: one 30' deep by 35' wide and 150' long, another 25' by 100' by 50'. Total
topsoil storage on the site equals approximately 10,460 CY, enough to cover about 13
acres. All other topsoil stockpiles mentioned in the 1995 Amendment bond calculations are
also still in place, so it is assumed that no changes to the topsoil requirements will be
necessary.
3. All setbacks from powerlines and railroad tracks are being observed as required. No new
progress has been reported in resolving the question of what to do with the railroad spur,
so all attendant costs of removing it are assumed to remain the same.
4. Some vegetation has moved in naturally across the surfaces of the overburden and cinder
piles, mostly comprising yellow sweet clover, fescue, and some wheatgrass. Almost the
entire site has been disturbed, with the exception of an acre-wide swath along the
southern border, totalling approximately 7 acres overall.
5. Most of the slopes of the excavation and stockpiles are either highwalls or 1. SH:1V
slopes; the assumed cut and fill estimates remain the same.
It is assumed that there will be no change in the financial warranty from the 1995
calculation, since all conditions have remained essentially the same at the pit.
No problems were noted at the site at this time.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Julie Goettemoeller
OPERATOR Western Mobile Northern
STREET 1590~W. 12`" Ave.
CITY/STATE/ZIP Denver, Co 80204
cc: Carl B.
