(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1982-015 <br />INSPECTION DATE 06/09/2006 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS DEG <br />This second pre-operational inspection of Permit Number M-1982-015, conducted by Deb E. GSnima of the DMG, was <br />prompted by a need to verify the current, marked permit boundaries. The site is located approximately 5 miles east of <br />Longmont, directly east of I-25 frontage road to Weld County Road 28, then east to Weld County Road 9 %:, south until it <br />intersects with a dirt access road that leads directly to the ponds. The permit sign is pasted at the intersection of Weld County <br />Road 28 and Weld County Road 9 %. <br />The staked, revised/current permit area was inspected; however, the southern extent of the permit boundary (that runs along <br />the St. Vrain) was not staked, yet. <br />Of greater concern is the seemingly ubiquitous nature of the weed population on site. Tamarisk (see photo 2), W hite Top (see <br />photo 1), and Knapweed (see photo 1) are present across the permit area, especially near the ponds' shoreline. However, the <br />above State-listed noxious weeds appear across the site and are not localized to only one area of concern. As a result, a weed <br />control and management plan must be created per Rule 3.1.10(6). This plan should be developed in consultation with the <br />county extension agency, or weed control district office, and should include specific control measures to be applied, a schedule <br />of when the control measures will be applied, and apost-spray monitoring plan. <br />As a courtesy, the Division is including a description of a weed management and control plan that the operator may choose to <br />use or not. <br />Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Deb E.
