(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #
INSPECTION DATE 03/09/00
M-85-029
r]
I
INSPEOTOR'S INITIALS AJW
This was a normal monitoring inspection conducted at the request of theloperator to
review a proposed gravel screening operation at the Alma Placer. The s~te is located just
east and adjacent to the town of Alma, Colorado and is situated along an Qld alluvial terrace
of the North Fork of the South Platte River.
On October 1, 1999, Reclamation Resources received permission to conductisome limited gravel
processing and screening on their permitted area. There are several pips of placer washed
material stockpiled around the permitted area. These piles are basically~.washed and unsorted
gravel piles and some of them are fairly substantial in size. Removal ~f these stockpiles
will have an overall positive impact on the site since they are rathe unsightly and are
essentially excess material that if removed will not impact the backfilli g and grading plan.
The main reason for this inspection was to observe processing equipment that could be used
on this site and determine if the type of screening and processing that it can do is
allowable under the terms of approval of Technical Revision-04. Based ~n the observations
made during the site visit, this equipment will meet those terms.
Another aspect of this inspection was to discuss where, within the p~rmitted area, this
equipment could be set up. The permitted area and affected area at thispit are not equal.
The affected area is divided into 8 sections covering the majority of th permit area except
for a small previously mined area where one of the larger stockpile is located. The
operator wanted to set up in this area for a couple of reasons includi g proximity to the
largest gravel pile, and being behind this pile and a natural knob red ces visibility and
provides a natural sound barrier. However, since this area is within th permitted, but not
the affected area, it can not currently be used to conduct mining relat d activities. The
operator indicated that he would like to swap some of the affected area t at has not yet been
disturbed for this area. This can be done as long as the affected area t be swapped has not
yet been disturbed. In addition, the amount of area added can not be gre ter than that which
will be released. This action is done through a modified amendment proc ss to incorporate
the new area in conjunction with a financial warranty release to de ete the presently
affected but undisturbed area. The modified amendment process can be d ne within 30 days
unless there are objections, whereby, the amendment is then required to x~un through the full
review time frames for a normal amendment. In the meantime, the gravel ocessing equipment
can be set up and operated within affected area 1 or 2, both of which ar~ covered under the
present bond.
This concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Mr. Dennis Ducommun
OPERATOR Reclamation Resources
STREET P.O.
