• <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1978-091 <br />INSPECTION DATE 10/30/00 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS RCO <br />The following problems (PBl and/or possible violations (PVl (and suggested corrective actions) were identified during this <br />inspection. The problems should be corrected by the dates given, or they will become possible violations. The possible <br />violations should be corrected by the dates given to reduce their severity when considered by the Mined Land Reclamation <br />Board. The inspector noted on the previous page should be notified of all corrective actions taken. <br />PROBLEMS/POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS <br />AND <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br /> CORRECTION <br /> DATE <br />One of the operator's compressors was leaking oil on the ground, posing a threat of 11 /15/00 <br />contamination to soil and water. PB or PV: PB <br /> TOPICISI: HB , <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: The oil leak must be promptly contained, by either repairing MP , , _ <br />the leak, removing the compressor from the site, or by providing adequate secondary <br />containment of the leaking oil. (A bermed impermeable liner will suffice, as long as it <br />is of sufficient capacity, and is monitored and maintained.) Contaminated soils must <br />be removed from the site and properly disposed of. <br />Future handling of spilled hydrocarbons, from all onsite sources, must be carried out <br />such that they are contained and disposed of in a proper manner. <br />The operator must provide evidence of havino removed the contaminated soil and <br />contained the leaking fluids, and committed in writing to following a basic elan of <br />hydrocarbon management on the site.
