Cottony <br />Acing Division Director <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is proposing to reduce the inspection <br />frequency for the Twin Pines No. 2 Mine. In accordance with Rule 5.02.2(8)(b) of the <br />Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Boazd for Coal Mining, <br />we aze providing notice of this proposed decision. <br />Any person with an interest who maybe adversely affected by the proposed decision may <br />submit written comments within 30 days of the first publication of the public notice by <br />the Division in the Canon City Daily Record. <br />The Twin Pines No. 2 Mine is a reclaimed underground coal mine located in Fremont <br />County approximately ten miles southeast of Canon City, Colorado. The permit and <br />reclamation bond for the Twin Pines No. 2 Mine were revoked and forfeited, respectively, <br />by the Mined Land Reclamation Boazd on 29 May 1996. The exact legal description of the <br />mine is the SEl/4 NWl/4 and the NEl/4 NW 1/4 of Section 2, and the SW 1/4 NW 1/Q of <br />Section 1, Township 20 South, Range 70 West on the 6`" Principle Meridian, Fremont <br />County, Colorado. The coal interest is private and the surface affected is private land. The <br />permit area encompasses approximately 13.2 acres. <br />A copy of the Proposed Decision is enclosed.
