The operator is reminded that better success with <br />revegetation is obtained by more timely replacement of topsoil. If it can be replaced this season, then a late season seeding <br />on those slopes may be performed yet this year. If seeding waits until next year, that represents a year lost on the <br />reclamation calendar and another year for that part of the required bond. Establishment of vegetative competition from <br />grasses will help to weaken the noxious weeds which the operator wishes to eliminate. <br />There is adequate bond for this operation, since the bond posted is for final reclamation for the entire site. If bond <br />reduction is desired, please refer to Rule 4.16. Changing the mining and reclamation plans to allow concurrent reclamation <br />Ito keep the bond lower) might require a technical revision. <br />There were no further items observed or discussed during the inspection, and no problems at this time.
