Don Blake, Lincoln County Land Use Administrator, accompanied me on the inspection. This sand and <br />gravel operation is in the bed of the Arickaree River. A stockpile area has been established on the north side of <br />the river on the first terrace. The operation is within the well marked boundary of the permit area. The <br />identifying sign is properly posted at the mine entrance off of county road 41. <br />This is a typical dry river channel operation. Material is removed from the riverbed and, after significant river <br />flows deposit more sediments in the excavated area, they are available for future removal. Final reclamation <br />of the riverbed is accomplished by natural replacement of the sediments. There is a small stockpile of product <br />in the stockpile area.
