This monitoring was conducted
from January 22 to February 19 of this year. The Division requested the assistance of
the Office of Surface Mining, who is the federal oversight agency to the Division of
Minerals and Geology.
While each blast is a discrete and separate event, monitoring conducted over this time
period indicates airblast and ground response from blast conducted during this time
period to be minimal and well within regulated limits. This monitoring was conducted
confidentially and the mine was not notified until the monitoring was completed.
The Division may conduct monitoring periodically in the future to ensure compliance
with the regulated limits for airblast and ground vibration.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
Sint rely,
e t Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist it
Enclosure (1)
