Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford and Harry Posey, DMG, Greg Knell
and Jason McGraw, Robinson Brick Company, and Brad Mueller, Siloam Stone, Inc. Weather at the
time of the inspection was clear, windy, and approximately 45 degrees,
2. A sign is posted at the entrance to the site and the boundaries are marked. The site is adjacent to two
other permits. This permit is for 329 acres, of which only approximately 40 acres has been disturbed. A
topsoil stockpile is located along the northern edge of the site approximately 60 feet from an adjacent
drainage. Mining in this area will not continue into the drainage. The topsoil was still being added to at
the time of the inspection, and the pile is to be continued to the west to serve as a berm to prevent
runoff from exiting the site and carrying sediments into the nearby drainage. The stockpile had not
been seeded at the time of the inspection. Mr. Mueller, however, indicated that once stockpiling of
topsoil is complete, the pile will be seeded to stabilize the pile and prevent erosion into the nearby
drainage.
3. Reclamation of the western portion of the site is planned to commence soon. Continued mining will
occur to the east. A storm water catchment basin is locafed adjacent to the mine face, and Mr.
Mueller indicated that the basin will continue to precede the mine face as mining moves eastward.
Reclamation of this area was discussed with Mr. Mueller, who agreed that the northern area will be
reclaimed with a slight gradient to the north with contouring that will reduce the flow of runoff, but not
contain the runoff on the reclaimed site.
4. Activity at the site appears to fall within the guidelines of the permit. The current bond amount of
$26,100 appears to be adequate for reclamation of the site. A partial bond calculation, however, will
be conducted in order to confirm that the amount is adequate.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Ferd Mueller
OPERATOR: Siloam Stone
STREET: 1360 R~ idrf AVPnI ie
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Cnnnn City Cr7 81919
Cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD {CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
X Other: Harry Posey, DMG
