(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: AA_tgAd_tR5
INSPECTION DATE: t t-t v-ns INSPECTOR=S INITIALS: inn
OBSERVATIONS
This was a monitoring inspection for the purpose of reviewing, in the field, Lincoln County's compliance with the
permit, regulations and Act. Don Blake, County Land Use Administrator accompanied me.
The permit area is located in the Arickaree River channel including both channel banks. This is primarily a
riverbed operation. Sand and gravel are mined from the riverbed. The resource is replenished during periods of
high stream flows, which has not happened for several years. Since the material is placed on county roads, a
binder is necessary to make it adequate for the use. The binder is mined from the channel banks.
The last inspection of this mine, by the Division, was on February 3, 2000. One problem regarding proper
placement of boundary markers was cited in the report. The record shows that the County corrected the
problem. There are no new problems to cite in regard to this inspection.
The identification sign and permit boundary markers were properly placed.
On the north side of the pit, a mined river channel embankment (about Y, acre) needs to be graded and
topsoiled as part of final reclamation. There is a small pile of binder left and Mr. Blake said that, once that
material is used, reclamation work will begin. He said that topsoil will be hauled to the site for reclamation from
county road borrow ditch cleaning operations.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Don Blake
OPERATOR: Lincoln County
STREET: P (~ Bnx 39
CITY/STATE/ZIP: uugLL c~ RnR~i
Cc: Harry Posey- via a-mail
