<br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the Coal Gulch Mine for the month of June, 2001. The weather is partly <br />cloudy but no rain is forecasted. <br />Hydrologic Balance: The upper area of the site has standing water in it and the pond was about half full <br />but not discharging. The site is stable hydrologically speaking and only minor signs of erosion are <br />present. <br />General Mine Compliance: Firehawk Construction has stated to the DOT that they did not alter the Coal <br />Gulch drainage pattern to flow into the highway ROW but the Division has sent photographic evidence <br />to the contrary. The site is to be sprayed for weed infestation within the next two weeks. <br />
