III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Seneca H Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the DMG. <br />Aerial photographs were taken on February 20, 2003. The aerial photos were reviewed by Mike <br />Boulay of the DMG. Weather conditions were cleaz at the time of the flight. The majority of the <br />mine site was snow covered. <br />Roads <br />With the exception of the County Road alongside the Wadge Impoundment, all roads appear to <br />be snow packed throughout the mine site. There was no activity noted at the time of the flight. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />Ponds 002, 004, and 008 were visible in the photos. All of these sedimentation ponds were <br />retaining water. They were snow covered and appeaz frozen at the surface. Pond embankments <br />appeaz to be stable and no problems were noted at any of these pond locations. <br />Sunnort Facilities <br />The shop and warehouse azeas were viewed. These locations had been cleazed of snow. From <br />the photos, these facilities and perimeter azeas appeaz to be well maintained and no problems <br />were noted with this aerial inspection. <br />
