III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the North Thompson Creek Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of <br />DMG. No company representative was present during the inspection. The North Thompson <br />Creek Mine is in reclamation only status. The inspection involved viewing two areial <br />photographs taken by Harry Ranney of DMG on March 18, 1997. <br />Roads The road leading into the North Thompson Creek Mine was under snow cover and did <br />not appear passable. <br />Hydrologic Balance Snow was present throught the mine site. The long pond, treatment <br />ponds and sediment pond contained water. The ditches were under snow cover. No major <br />erosion features were noted on the reclaimed portions of the mine site. <br />Backfilling & Grading The backfilled and graded areas appeared stable. <br />
