(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-t 977-JSF,
INSPECTION DATE: 9/77/09 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: KAP
OBSERVATIONS
1. This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Minerals and Geology's monitoring program. Present at the
inspection were Kate Pickford, DMG and Rich Schrorer, Grand County Road and Bridge. Weather at the time of the
inspection was partly cloudy, calm, and approximately 50 degrees.
2. A sign was posted at the entrance to the site and the boundaries were marked. The road is the boundary to the west and the
remainder of the boundaries are fence. The west section of the site is actively being mined, although there was not mining
activity at the time of the inspection. There is a crusher and stockpiles of material in this area of the site. The remainder of the
site has been stripped of trees in preparation for mining. The downed vegetation has been chipped and the chips are spread
out in the stripped area. Some piles of material still remain, however, these piles will be removed prior to mining. The topsoil
is currently being stockpiled and has not yet been seeded. The stockpile will be seeded, however, once all the topsoil is
finished being stockpiled. Anew county shop is being built but is on land located outside of the permit area. The county is
planning to build a road along the north edge of the permit area to allow better access from the site onto the main road. Mr.
Schrorer indicated that the county will submit a Technical Revision providing for the road sometime next year. Runoff at the
site appears to be contained within the permit boundaries. Noxious weeds were not present at the site.
3. All activities and completed work at the time of inspection appeared to be following the guidelines set forth in the mining
plan for the pit. All operations and conditions at the time of the inspection fall within regulations.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: M.C. Branstetter
OPERATOR: Grand County
STREET: 467 E.
