Approximately 250,000 square feet
of liner has been deployed since the last inspection. Since the beginning
of this construction season, approximately 2,000,000 square feet of liner
has been deployed. Before the end of the construction season, depending on
weather conditions, the operator plans to deploy the remaining
approximately, 800,000 square feet by the end of OCTOBER. The deployed
liner was inspected and appeared to meet the required specifications.
Drain cover was being deployed along the NORTH WEST facing slopes at the
time of the inspection. Golder QA/QC in addition to Ames workers were
present over looking the deployment.
Inspected the phase I, II, III AND IV leach pad pregnant POND areas and
recorded the following readings from the High and Low volume solution
collection transducers.
Phase I High Volume solution collection transducer # 1 was recorded at 35.5
#2 was at 38.6 and # 3 was at 38.9. Low volume transducer # 1 was at .17
and # 2 was at .53. Piezometer for the pond was at 34 feet.
Phase II and III High Volume solution collection transducer # 4 was
recorded at 33.7 # 5 was recorded at 27.9 and # 6 was recorded at 36.4. Low
volume transducer # 1 was at .22 and # 2 was at.74. Piezometer for the pond
was at feet.
Phase IV High Volume solution collection transducer #7 was recorded at 22.8
# 8 was at 21.5 # 9 was at 22.4 and # 10 was at 22.7. Low volume transducer
# 1 was at 19.8 and # 2 was at 8.6 inches of hydrostatic head. (All other
readings are in feet of hydrostatic head)
Inspected the external pond, it was holding some water (rain). While in the
are recorded the following readings from the Low Volume collection
transducers. Transducer # 1 was at 10.8 and # 2 was at # 7.8
Inspected the under- drain area, Both the north, south and four inch pipes
were discharging. Only the upper pond was holding measurable water, the
rest were almost dry, reflective of the dry week the area had experienced
since the last inspection.
