Peer Wayland of Weiland <br />Sugnet Inc. was to accompany the inspector ,but had to cancel due to vehicle problems. <br />The public notice was posted at the site. The proposed permit boundaries were not flagged, but were located by using the ap- <br />plication maps, Fence lines, farm roads and the river channel. There is a small pond in the southwest potion of the application <br />area which may be the result of previous mining, but there was no evidence of any recent disturbance. <br />As a result of this inspection several questions were raised. These items will be described in a subsequent adequacy letter, but <br />are also being listed here. <br />1. Is the proposed operation in the river flood plain? If so how will the reclaimed pasture in the pit floor be protected <br />during flood events? <br />2. Is the Big Thompson Ponds State Wildlife Area within 200 feet of the proposed disturbance? If so the State <br />Division of Wildlife should be noticed. <br />3. Wilt a buffer zone tx maintained between the operation and the river ?
