<br /> <br />October 28, 1977 Page Two Chairman <br />L•Ie appreciate your consideration of a clarification of that <br />ruling encouraging small mining operations to use previously <br />disturbed areas for stockpiling and equipment storage without <br />penalty and feel that the ultimate result might well be that <br />those previously disturbed areas cai11 become part of the area to be <br />reclaimed. Though that could not be a requirement the final total <br />reclaimed acreage would probably be higher than could be <br />anticipated under the strict interpretation of the Rules and <br />P.egulations should the operator elect to stockpile and store <br />equipment on virgin land contained within the permit area and <br />abandon all previous disturbed or mined out portions of the operation. <br />Sincerely, <br />~~~~~~~ <br />.
