III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts orevidence <br />supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the Blue Flame Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. Along on the inspection were Henry Austin of <br />the Office of Surface Mining, and Ralph Lamson and Randy Poleahla of the Hopi Tribe's Office of <br />Mining and Mineral Resources. The ground was covered with a foot of snow which limited ground <br />observations. <br />Prior to May 2004 DMG had last conducted reclamation on this site in May 1993. In May 2004, <br />DRMS had a hole near the top of the portal area backfilled and a diversion ditch was excavated at the <br />top of the portal area. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />There are no ponds or ditches on the site. <br />SLIDES AND DAMAGE <br />The reclaimed portal area appeared stable with no signs of slope movement. <br />
