and two volumes. Field parameters at one volume were pH 7.4, EC 1700. At two volumes,
pH was 7.4 and EC was 1600. After pum ing, the water level was 16.2' from TOC. A
second sample for laboratory analysis was then taken. Field parameters were pH 7.4, EC
1600, temperature 12.3°C.
DH 96 - Downgradient of mining activities
The water level was measured at 6.7' from TOC. Standing water in the casing was bailed
five times. Water from the sixth bail was collected for a sample. The field parameters were
pH 7.4, EC 1800, temperature 13.8°C, The well was then pumped for 25 minutes so that
three well volumes were removed. Field parameters were checked during pumping at one
and two volumes. Field parameters at one volume were pH 7.3, EC 1800. At two volumes,
pH was 7.3 and EC was 1800. After pumping, the water level was 9.5' from TOC. A
second sample for laboratory analysis was then taken. Field parameters were pH 7.3, EC
1800, temperature 10.3°C.
General Mine Plan Compliance - No recent activity was apparent in the B pit area. The
operator indicated a grid had been established on the ground to assist reclamation
operations and ensure that the approved post mine topography is achieved.
A water truck was spraying down a lift of ash in the A pit. Exposed ash had been graded,
no ungraded ash in pit.
Topsoil -All topsoil stockpiles were in a stable configuration, well vegetated, and were
identified as topsoil by signs placed on the piles.
Roads -The access road between the A and B pit areas had been resurfaced. The far east
access road, from the shop area to the A pit had been partially reclaimed. Surfacing has
been removed and the area rough graded, leaving final grading, topsoil replacement, and
revegetation to be done.
Keencsbutg Mine 2 Septcmber 25, 1996
