The inspection report addresses the need to comply with the <br />specifications of Rule 3.1.5 (9) regarding the on-site disposal of inert fill. The enclosed <br />information addresses the recommended corrective actions for the Glass Gravel Pit site. <br />The use of off-site backfill material will only affect the existing groundwater lake and <br />associated shoreline. The quantity of backfill material entering the site will total <br />approximately 250,000 cubic yards and is expected to be clean and inert and suitable for <br />backfilling. Transport of the material to the Glass Gravel Pit site will be stopped if the <br />material appears off-color, produces a suspicious odor, or contains excessive amounts of <br />debris. An affidavit certifying that the material is clean and inert is attached. ' <br />The excavation and transport of material to the site is expected to occur from 2004 <br />through 2008. The material will be used to create the backfilled shoreline areas of the <br />proposed groundwater lake. Placement and grading will be performed to stabilize the <br />material and control erosion. The material will be placed and compacted in the same <br />manner as described in the current reclamation plan.
