<br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Eastside Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of DMG. No <br />company representative was present during the inspection. The Eastside Mine is in reclamation <br />only status. 'The inspection involved viewing two aerial photographs taken by Harry Ranney of <br />DMG on March 26, 7998. Snow cover was scattered throughout the site. <br />Hydrologic Balance The sediment pond was under snow cover, but appeared to be dry. The <br />ditch leading into the pond was noted in both of the photos, and appears functional. The <br />permanent drainage channel through the mid-portion of the mine appears stable and in good <br />repair. No major erosion features were noted on the reclaimed slopes. <br />Backfilling & Grading The backfilled areas appeared stable, and no major erosion features were <br />noted. Vegetation appears to be well established on the site. <br />
