According to the road and bridge supervisor present during
the inspection, the site is only used on as need basis. There is an
ephemeral stream with wide channels located south of the permit area,
operator has to cross it to reach the pit area. The recent rains the area
had received had caused the road crossing iTN impassible. Operator stated
that it happens at least once or twice a year whenever there is runoff in
the area. Pit High walls measured approximately 7 feet and were stable. No
major sign of erosion features noted. There was some screened material
noted along the West side of the permit area. The pit floors from the pre-
law mining in the area appeared to have naturally reclaimed and were
stable. The operator stated that since this is the only southern active pit
in the area, they plan to keep it open for some time. Permit sign and
boundary markers properly displayed.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: GARY PRITCHARD
OPERATOR: BENT COUNTY
STREET: P ~ Box ssn
CITY/STATE/ZIP: I AC ANIMAL, CO 81054
CC:
Harry Posey (e-mail)
cc: r CE
r BL
r FS
r HW
r HMWMD (CH)
r
r sE
r wocD (cH)
r OTHER
