.~ <br />n <br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the Yoast Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the DMG. Aerial <br />photographs were taken on November 24, 1998. The aerial photos were reviewed by Mike <br />Boulay (DMG)._ Weather conditions were cleaz at the time of the flight. The mine site was <br />mostly free of snow cover and appeared to be dry. The Yoast Mine status is active. <br />Roads <br />Mine roads were viewed and appeared to be mostly dry and in good condition throughout the <br />site. <br />H dv rologic Balance <br />Pond 011 was holding water at a level well below the primary spillway. Pond 010 was not <br />visible in the photographs. <br />Topsoil <br />Topsoil removal has been completed at the Yoast Mine for the current permit azea. Topsoil has <br />been stripped well in advance of the pit. Topsoil piles viewed in the photos appeazed to be <br />stable. <br />
