III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Coal Gulch Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. No one else was present. <br />The permit for this mine was revoked more than 10 years ago. DMG's IML program had reclamation work done <br />on the site in September 1994. <br />Vehicle access from Hwy. 160 into the Coal Gulch site was blocked with a cable. The ground was dry. <br />Hvdrolo¢ic Balance <br />The lower pond contained a small pool of water, several feet below the primary spillway culvert. <br />Slides and Damaee <br />No problems with slope stability or erosion was evident. <br />Reclamation Success <br />Vegetation cover appears good on the disturbed azeas. Thistle spraying is needed on several hundred squaze feet <br />of the site. No other problems were found on the site <br />
