Ranney, Division of Minerals and Geology <br />Russ Porter, Office of Surface Mining <br />The Albuquerque Field Office (AFO), Office of Surface Mining <br />(OSM) received written notification of the Phase II bond <br />release at the Chimney Rock mine from the state of Colorado, <br />Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) on October 12, 1993. <br />AFO notified DMG that a representative from OSM would be <br />present during the bond release inspection. <br />The original application for a Phase II bond release was <br />submitted on September 16, 1992. OSM has not been presented <br />with a copy of the original application, the newspaper <br />advertisement or the notifications to adjoining property <br />owners, local government bodies, surface owners, county <br />planning agencies, etc. Additional information Kaiser <br />submitted to supplement the original application was provided <br />the day of the bond release inspection. DMG has been <br />requested to provide this information and other information on <br />three different occasions but it has not been received. Since <br />this report cannot be delayed any longer it is being completed <br />3 <br />
