A site inspection was made of the Hokestra Pit No. 1 in response to the operator's <br />December 7, 2000 request for a partial reclamation responsibility release. Present during <br />the inspection was Greg Nelson of Weld County, Public Works Department. <br />2. Weld County has requested a release of reclamation responsibility for the Phase I area <br />plus 400 additional feet to the east. This inspector concludes that the request cannot be <br />appoved as portion of the Phase I area have not been completely reclaimed in accordance with <br />the specifications of the reclamation plan. <br />3. The Division will consider approval of a revised release request if received on or before <br />January 19, 2001 and the following criteria are met: <br />A complete release is requested for only the area of the Service Center and parking lot <br />area to the east that has been completely backfilled and graded to finish contours. (The <br />approximate acreage of these areas will need to be specified on a revised mining or <br />reclamation plan map). <br />A partial release is requested for backfilling and grading as well as topsoiling <br />responsibilities on the remaining portion of the Phase I area. (The approximate acreage of <br />the remaining area will need to specified on a revised mining or reclamation plan map).
