{Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-2000-033
INSPECTION DATE 09/19/2006 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS DEG
OBSERVATIONS
This routine monitoring inspection of Permit Number M-2000-033 (Villard Pit #2) was conducted by Deb E. GOnima of the
DRMS. Moffat County representative Butch Combs was present during this inspection. The pit is located 18 miles north of
Craig, CO on Hwy 13 and 1 mile east on access road, and currently consists of approximately 66 acres where approximately 40
acres have been disturbed. This operation is permitted for activity on both the north and south sides of the access road leading
into the area.
Mine entrance signs and permit boundary markers are all in place, there are numerous material stockpiles on site, and the
topsoil stockpiles are all well-marked. All activities and completed work at the time of inspection appeared to follow the
guidelines and regulations set forth by the state and the mining and reclamation plans forthe pit, and no problems are noted for
this site. The site is stable and no disturbance was observed outside of the approved permit boundaries. For future reference,
this site is correctly positioned in the DRMS online GIS.
The storm water runoff control program that was implemented a few years back seems to have been successful in its use of
diversion structures, sediment traps, and small ponding areas. There appears to be no offsite erosion, and no long-term
(greater than 72 hours) water retention was observed. There was a substantial annual weed population on site. However, as
reclamation and reseeding have not yet commenced, this population of weeds is of little concern at this time.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Deb E. G6nima at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Denver Office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone number 303-866-4179.
I & E Contact Address
cc_
^ CE
NAME Mr. Marvin Moore ^ BL
OPERATOR Moffat County ^ FS
STREET 1570 Ranney Street ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Craio.
