(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ~~-~ 999-> > 7
INSPECTION DATE: 02/~d/nx INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ~!?
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Minerals and Geology's four-year monitoring
program. Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford, DMG, and Kenny Smith, Colorado Gravel
Products, Inc. Weather at the time of the inspection was clear, calm, and approximately 40 degrees.
2. A sign is posted at the entrance to the site and the permit boundaries are marked. Disturbance at the
site consists of an active pit containing some graded slopes and some active highwalls. The pit is being
excavated according to the approved mining plan, which states that mining will occur to a depth of 25
feet in order to remain above the water table. The permit materials state that if the operator opts to
mine deeper and expose groundwater, the proper approvals for exposure of groundwater will be in
place. If the operator chooses to mine deeper, the operator is reminded that this change to the mining
plan will require a revision to the permit.
3. The remainder of the disturbance at the site consists of stockpile areas and an area near the entrance
where scales are being installed. The operator plans to move the crushing and processing equipment
from his other site to this site in the near future. The operator may also build a cement plant at this site
when the existing plant located at another site needs to be replaced. The operator expressed in his
permit application that he is aware that if he plans to construct a cement plant at this site, it will require
a revision to the permit.
4. All activity at the site appears to comply with the approved plan contained in the permit. A bond
calculation will be conducted separately to determine whether the current bond amount of $64,260.00
is adequate to complete reclamation at the site.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Kennv Smith
OPERATOR: Colorado Gravel Products.
