This
orke out to about ~,treee per acre, for a total ~iDimum) of trees to be planted, and
~~ ehrube per acre for a total (minimum) of hruba to be planted. The Division
recommends that Rueaian Olive be eliminated from the list of trees to be planted, ae these
trees have been found to be undesirable from a wildlife habitat standpoint. The Division
further reco~~wende thatper acre hay or straw mulch be spread over seeded areas and
crimped into the soil. Since it ie the Division's view that acceptable grass establishment
will require that the site be mulched, a coat for mulch application will be included in the
reclamation coat estimate.
In the worst case, from a reclamation coat standpoint, the de-watering pump would have been
removed, and the pits flooded. In this situation, at leas artial de-watering would be
required to facilitate grading and topsoil replacement. Withacres of water surface, and
a 15 foot average water depth (from approved Reclamation Plan Map), there would be a total
of 655 million gallons of water in the lakes. Dewatering costa from 1994 cDOT coat Data are
~2 per million gallons. If 25 percent of the water in lakes had to be pumped out
to facilitate reclamation, the resulting cost would be
In general, Y.his site is found to be in compliance with the approved mining and reclamation
plane. Problems noted during this inspection that require corrective actions to be completed
by specific dates are listed on the last page of this report. The operator should complete
reclamation of the east (97 acre) pit to the extent practicable, taking into consideration
the need to load out remaining stockpiled product.
cc: Carl Hount, DHG
Dick Wolfe
Division of Water Resources
1313 Sherman St. Room 818
Denver, CO 80203
I & E Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Bob Siecrist ^ BL
OPERATOR Siecrist Construction Comnanv ^ FS
STREET 6999 North York Street ^ HW
CITYJSTATE/2I P_ Denver.
