The
main purpose of the inspection was to collect water sample:a from the under
drain discharge pipes for the third quarter, 2005. Present during the
sampling and inspection portion of the site were Mr. Lawrence Meyers and
Mr. Tim Comer of CC&V. Two eight-ounce bottle of discharge water from the
South Under drain and the 4 inches pipe were collected for wad cyanide
analysis. The samples were placed on ice and delivered to the Health
Department Laboratory in the afternoon. All the under drain discharge ponds
and storm water detention ponds in the area were dry. Inspected AG 1.5
Discharge point, it was also dry.
While on site, collected the following readings from the Haigh and Low
volume solution collection systems of the Phase I,II,III AIQD IV of the
leach pad facility.
Phase I High Volume Solution collection transducer # I digital read out
meter was still not operational, as reported in previous inspection
reports, CC&V plans to replace the digital read out display when they
replace the pumps, since there are two working digital display in addition
to a piezometer for the pond, the fact that # 1 still not operational is
not a problem. Transducer # 2 was recorded at 48.4 and # 3 WAS AT 48.0.
Piezometer for the pond was recorded at 49.9 feet. Low volume solution
collection transducer # 1 was recorded at.18 and # 2 was air .74.
Phase II& III high Volume Solution collection transducer # 4 was recorded
at 26.3 # 5 was at 21.8 and # 6 was at 27.5. Piezometer fo:r the pond was at
28.7 feet. Low Volume Solution collection transducer # 1 w+~s recorded at
.13 and # 2 was at .56.
Phase IV high volume solution collection transducer # 7 ways recorded at
34.8 # 8 was at 33.6 #9 was at 36.1 and # 10 was at 36.4. :Low Volume
transducer # 1 was at 15.8 and # 2 was at 4.7 inches of hydrostatic head.
(Note: All transducer readings are in feet of hydrostatic ;head unless
otherwise noted). Inspected the external pond, it was holding some
rainwater. While in the area collected the following readings from the Low
Volume Solution Collection Transducers. Transducer # 1 was recorded at 15.8
and # 2 was at 4.7 inches of hydrostatic head.
Inspected the main Cresson pit area it was active, looked ,st the area that
is expected to be mined this summer, no problem noted. Inspected the Old
Iron Clad Tailings stockpile area that is now being reclaimed. Backfill and
grading is completed and topsoil was being spread at the time of the
inspection. CC&V plans to seed the site this fall.
