(Page 2) S
MI N'2, ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-92-069
INSPECTION DATE 11/09/99 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS CLK
OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were recorded during a succession of Operator inspection of this 124-acre 1 l2 site.
] ) Boundaries were marked and a sign with the DMG permit number was posted at the entrance to the site, as is required by the
rules.
Z) Approximately half of current site area is being actively excavated, with approximately 62 acres left undisturbed. One 6-acre
parcel along the southern boundary has been reclaimed, with a good stand of grass growing on the area in question. Another
3.6-acre area in the southeast comer has been largely reclaimed into a wildlife pond, with the sloping, [opsoiling, and vegetation
completed, and additional fines being added sparingly to create a wetlands. A small, 2.5-acre area 700-ft long strip along the
northern boundary of the site has been partially reclaimed, with the sloping completed.
3) The processing and stockpile storage area is situated in the center of the disturbed portion of the site, with excavations
continuing around the perimeter and a dewatering trench conning to the discharge point on the north boundary. Topsoil has
been salvaged and seeded in quantities sufficient to reclaim the site around the perimeter and in stockpiles near the entrance.
Slopes of 1 H:1 V to 1 /2H:1 V run the length of the northern and western boundaries.
4) A lake of 50 to 60 aces is planned as part of the final reclamation, so a portion of this site will be underwater and will not need
sloping and seeding reclamation measures to be applied.
No problems were noted. The current bond will be calculated within two weeks, based on the conditions noted during this
inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Bestwav Paving
OPERATOR Colorado Division of Highways
STREET 4340 Louisiana Avenue
CITY/STATE/ZIP Denver.
