MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING II) # M-83-194 <br />INSPECTION DATE 06-26-98 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SC <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />This was a regular inspection of the Nahcolite Project conducted by Gregg Squire and Erica Crosby of <br />the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. The main purpose was to familiarize Erica Crosby of <br />the processing facility. Mike Schram, a representative of White River Nachcolite Minerals LLC. gave <br />a tour of the facility area. The last inspection was conducted on June 15, 1995. Weather conditions <br />on site were clear and warm. Ground conditions were dry. <br />The Nahcolite Project is a 112 operation, permitted for 73 acres. The mine is an underground <br />operation that involves construction and operation of a nahcolite solution mine to produce sodium <br />bicarbonate. The mine includes a plant site, evaporation ponds, pipelines, and a warehouse facility <br />area. A permit sign was noted at: the mine entrance. The permit boundary markers were visible. <br />The inspection was a brief check on the pipeline system, evaporation ponds and a tour of the facility <br />area. The operator stated that the evaporation pond has not required cleaning to date.
