III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Division Minerals and Geology. No <br />one else was present. <br />The Division is reviewing a Phase III (final) bond release application SL-5 for the site. A bond release <br />inspection was conducted in September 2004. <br />The site was dry and fully accessible. The site appeared as it did during the previous month's <br />inspection. <br />SLIDES AND DAMAGE <br />[ checked the following permanent ditches for compliance with their designs in Tab 7 of the permit <br />application: 2S 1, 2S2a, 3Nc, and 3Na. These ditches are at the base of the reclaimed East pit area. <br />All four ditches met the standazds. Downcutting and sediment deposition was found in places, but was <br />not enough to cause a significant departure from the standards, or to impair ditch function. <br />3 <br />
