III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection of the Carbon Junction Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach. No one else <br />was present. The ground was dry. <br />Availability of Records <br />All required records were on file at the office of Goff Engineering. <br />Signs and Markers <br />Now that the boundary has been clearly established between the gravel pit permit azea and the coal permit <br />azea, permit boundary mazker signs need to be installed between the two areas. Additional permit <br />boundary markers aze also needed along the western boundary of the coal permit boundary. <br />Roads <br />The road surface of the North Pit haul road was in good condition. Ditches aze in place next to the haul <br />road. <br />Hvdrolo¢ic Balance <br />Pond 1(large pond) -The pond was dry. The embankment and inslopes were in good shape. The flume <br />was in good repair. <br />Pond 2 (small pond) -The pond was dry. <br />Straw mulch has been liberally spread over all backfilled areas. Straw waddles have been installed for <br />sediment control along the north end of North Pit (see photo). <br />
