•
INSPECTION REPORT - PAGE 2
FILE N0. M-74-086
DATE: November 13, 1986
OBSERVATIONS OF IMPORTANCE:
i
1. The staff appreciates the time and consideration of Mr. Mayger during
the inspection.
2. A series of two ponds collects all surface runoff from the processing
area. These ponds appear to be of adequate size to accommodate all
water in the process area, and the sediment level is well below the
discharge points. Excess sediment is not escaping off-site.
3. Topsoil/overburden has been used to build berms around the downhill
periphery of the site to the south and east. These berms are stable,
are of sufficient height to control surface runoff, and are adequately
vegetated with native grasses and annuals. No erosion of these berms
was noted.
4. No fuel storage, truck maintenance, or storage, use, or generation of
hydrocarbons occurs on site. The site appears very clean.
5. Active quarrying is occurring northeast of the processing area. The
operator intends to extend the quarry northwestward.
6. Reclamation to date includes grading and re vegetating the south berm and
portions of the initial removal area.
7. The operator is encouraged to keep up the good work at the site and to
continue concurrent reclamation as much as is possible.

/tmb
Doc. No. 5344E
