A site inspection was made of the Sand Creek Mine
Wayne Pipken of Sand Creek Farms, Inc.
~~
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS TAS
Present during the inspection was Mr.
2. The inspection confirmed that the operator has reduced the reclamation liability at the
site to $4,500 (the amount of the existing financial warranty).
3. The temporary berm along the active channel of W. Bijou Creek has been reestablished and
will aid in maintaining the natural functions of the creek during future flows.
4. This inspector noted excavations of approximately 1.5-2 acres with exposed water north of
the wash ponds. These areas can be considered to be backwater or slough areas from the main
channel and will need to be filled in prior to financial warranty release. The operator was
encouraged to backfill these areas with overburden or reject materials as soon as possible
to reduce the volume of evaporative loss from them. The operator may be required to mitigate
the evaporative loss from these areas by the Office of the State Engineer if-they are not
backfilled during mining and/or reclamation.
I & E Contact Address
~ CE
NAME Wavne Pipken ~ BL
OPERATOR - Sand Creek Farms, Inc ~ FS
STREET P.O.
