The problems should be corrected by the dates given, or they will become possible violations. The possible <br />violations should be corrected by the dates given to reduce their severity when considered by the Mined Land Reclamation <br />Board. The inspector noted on the previous page should be notified of all corrective actions taken. <br />PROBLEMS/POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS <br />AND <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br />CORRECTION <br />DATE <br />1. Russian knapweed, a prohibited noxious weed species, was well established Januarv 29, 2004 <br />throughout disturbed portions of the Phase 1 b area and has invaded the PB or PV: PB <br />topsoil stockpile located within the Phase 1b area. Pursuant to Rule TOPICISI: RV <br />3.1.10(6) and approved permit conditions, the operator is required to RS , _, _ <br />employ weed control methods. Additionally, DMG is reviewing a technical <br />revision to all Montrose County gravel pits which addresses weed control. <br />Pursuant to the DMG Weed Control Policy, dated July 17, 1998, the <br />operator may be given up to three years to show significant progress toward <br />correcting the situation prior to a Board action. <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: Employ the appropriate weed control methods, <br />required by Rule 3.1.10161 and permit conditions, to control all prohibited <br />noxious or pest weed species located within affected lands. Pursuant to the <br />DMG Weed Control Policy, the operator may have up to January 29, 2004 <br />to show significant progress toward correcting the situation prior to a Board <br />action. <br />2. They topsoil stockpile, located in the Phase 1b area, appears to have existed June 30, 2001 <br />for periods exceeding one year. However, the operator has failed to PB or PV: PB <br />establish a protective vegetative cover for the topsoil stockpile, as required TOPICISI: TS <br />by Rule 3.1.9(11.
