Banta, Director
Mined Land Reclamation Division (MLRD)
215 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Dear Mr. Banta:
MAR2~1991
t/lined Land
Reclamation Division
We moved our family to Denver, Colorado from southern California in October, 1981.
During the first year in Colorado, our favorite weekend activity was a drive into the
mountains. They are
making mountains of tailings and have done nothing to reclaim the mined area. Jim
Jones (Game Warden) has passed the word to a lot of us that the Mined Land
Reclamation Division (MLRD) is considering amending the original reclamation plan
for the open pit gold mine. I am vehemently opposed to any such alteration. In fact, I
think they should be strengthened so that they reclaim the land as they finish each 8
acre plot.
This outfit is here for aone-time profit and will leave when the profit margin dictates.
There are a growing number of homeowners and taxpayers in Park County that feel
