<br />~• . . <br />INSPECTION REPORT - PAGE 2 <br />FILE N0. M-77-560 <br />DATE: September 6, 1985 <br />OBSERVATIONS OF IMPORTANCE: <br />1. Gravel extraction is occurring in Stage II. <br />2. Backfilling of eastern pit slopes and northern irregular shorelines is <br />progressing; the southern slopes have been filled to an approximatly 3H:1V <br />grade. <br />3. The topsoil stockpile was graded and seeded in the Spring, 1985. The <br />seeding failed; reseeding will occur Fail, 1985. <br />4. The "processing area" is not included in the permitted area; stockpiles, <br />curshing plant, "evaporation canal", and building sites were observed. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />1. The topsoil stockpile should be reseeded as soon as possible. <br />2. The "processing area" should be incorporated in the permitted area, as it <br />is "affected land" resulting f~rn the Rocky Ford East mining operation. <br />Please submit an amendment including the acreage increase, reclamation plan, <br />etc. for the "processing area" by November, the time designated for <br />Valco, Inc.'s various mine site submittals. <br />/Yt .. <br />Doc.
