III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below aze comments on the inspection. "1'he comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Joe Dudash of the Colorado DRMS. No one represented the operator <br />during the inspection. There was no acfivity on sife. <br />Roads <br />The paved haul road was in good condition. The bridge across the river was passable. <br />Hydrology <br />The hillside spring water treatment pond was discharging at about 10 to 15 gpm. The dischar_e was the usual <br />orange color, which has been found to be in compliance. The discharge pipe of the pond was functioning <br />properly. <br />There was no water in the sediment pond. The primary discharge pipe gated valve was closed. "1'he riprapped <br />emergency spillway was functional. The collection ditch that leads into the sediment pond had sufficient <br />capacity. <br />The hillside spring was flowing into the constructed ditch and culvert that lead into the hillside spring water <br />treatment pond. The spring water temperature was about 100 degrees Fahrenheit at a location about 15 feet <br />below its origination point in the hillside. <br />The caps were on the two alluvial wells. No problems were noted with the wells. The riverside protection berm <br />was functional. <br />Facilities <br />The mine site entrance gate was open. The gate was latched once the inspection was over. The operator is <br />prepping the mine office for demolition. <br />c: /word/bear3 /insp0807 <br />
