OBSERVATIONS
1. A pre-operation site inspection was made of the proposed Tanabe Pit, Regular 112c
operation. Present during the inspection was Ms. Pam Acre of Tuttle Applegate, Inc.
representing the applicant.
2. The applicant has proposed 78.9 permitted acres immediately east of Old Brighton Road and
immediately south of East 112th Avenue. There will be 59.6 acres of excavation which will
be reclaimed to a 40 acre lined water storage reservoir and 13.2 acres of wetlands. The
permit area is bounded on the south by the 1st Creek Drainage Channel. The current land use
is irrigated cropland.
3. There are numerous permanent man-made structures within 200 feet of the proposed affected
land. These include the following:
sewer/water lines, power/overhead phone lines, ?buried gas lines? along Old Brighton Aoad
Fulton Ditch within the northwest corner of the permit area
quanset huts and a wooded building within the north central portion of the permit area
overhead powerlines to the east
water wells and pumps as well as concrete irrigation canals within the permit area
a house and numerous buildings near the southwest corner of the permit area
4. There~is currently no mining disturbance at the site.
5. The applicant has posted a sign to clearly identify the site as the location of a proposed
mining operation, as required by Rule 1.6.2(1)(b).
